It also won the Oscar for Best Original Song – Remember Me. It is a great song and you can listen to it here:
So, how does this relate to Coco – The Environmentalist you ask? Well, in the spirit of Coco and the great song ‘Remember Me’, we were inspired to tweak it a little and come up with ‘Recycle Me!’
Though I’ve come to the end of my use
Don’t let it make you think twice
For ever if you threw me away
I hold you in my heart
I sing a secret song to you
Each night we are apart
The plastic that you threw away
You can’t get rid of me so easily
Know that I’m with you
The only way that I can be
Sitting in a landfill or the ocean
If you really do have to listen to how the song goes, here is our measly attempt at trying to sign.
The Problem of Plastic Waste
Excessive plastic waste is something that we are dealing with right now and if we do not take serious action to address this issue immediately, it will have a detrimental impact on us and our environment.
The message is that plastics can take up to 500 years to break down. So what we throw away today will still be there 5 generations later. Is that something that we want to leave behind for our great-great-great-great grandchildren?
So, apply these 3 steps:
- If you don’t need to get it, don’t.
- If you can use non-plastic alternatives, please do.
- If you absolutely have to use plastics, please recycle once you are done with it.
Kids love the movie Coco and I’m sure many adults do too. So sing this song in the shower, in your schools, change the lyrics, translate it to your own language and definitely do a better version than what we have done here! Please!
Spread the word and let your family and friends know! This is for our planet!
